Ben Dwork

Ben Dwork is a global communications strategist and media professional with nearly two decades of experience across journalism, international broadcasting, and humanitarian communications, spanning four continents and some of the world’s most complex operating environments including vulnerable communities, refugee camps, and war zones.

Ben’s career as a freelance journalist and broadcast producer included work for ABC News, CNN International, China Global Television Network, MTV, Facebook, and Apple, reporting from the United States and across Africa. That editorial foundation – knowing how stories are built and how audiences engage – is what he brings to every communications mandate today.

As Global Communications Manager at RET International, a Geneva-based humanitarian organization, Ben oversees global communications strategy, editorial direction, and external visibility. Since launching Catch Up with RET, the organization’s flagship LinkedIn newsletter, in 2023, he has grown its subscriber base to more than 4,300 and driven a 51% increase in RET’s LinkedIn following as well as built and manages an email list of over 20,000. Previously, as Senior Media Advisor to the Executive Director at Legal Action Worldwide, he guided media strategy around a landmark accountability case documenting conflict-related sexual violence in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, generating coverage across international outlets.

Ben has worked across Africa with organizations including COMESA, UNHCR, and partner NGOs providing media training, editorial guidance, and technical writing for donor proposals and institutional publications.

He holds a BFA in Film and Television Production from New York University and a Master’s in International Relations from IE School of Global and Public Affairs in Madrid. He is based in Madrid and speaks English, Spanish, and French.
