Emma Brodsky

Emma is a savvy communications strategist with a deep commitment to social justice and a sharp instinct for shaping narratives that drive change. With years of experience leading strategic communications, earned media, and public relations for nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and political campaigns, she has a proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage and crafting campaigns that influence policy.

During her nearly three years at Actum LLC, a global consulting agency, Emma worked closely with organizations like Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, The Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA), and Common Justice, helping them amplify their messages and mobilize public support. Among her biggest wins is devising a media plan for a public awareness campaign on the 2022 NYC racial justice ballot proposals, which passed with over 70% voter approval, establishing New York City as the first in the nation to take formal steps to dismantle structural racism in city government. She also helped drive a successful strategy to push statewide victim compensation legislation into law, benefiting marginalized communities, and secured top-tier media placements for a survivor-led alliance fighting to end sex trafficking.

Prior to Actum, she served as Communications Director for Robert Cornegy’s Campaign for Brooklyn Borough President and as a digital media assistant for several award-winning photographers.

A native New Yorker, Emma holds a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Spanish from Vassar College.
