Vince Morris

Vince Morris has decades of experience in media, politics and public affairs. Vince has spent the last three years working in the private PR sector, representing non-profits, trade associations, local governments, and real estate companies. Some of his work for a client who had a high-profile case before the Supreme Court was recognized by PR Daily.

Prior to that, Vince spent years leading the government affairs and media team at DC Water, the only water utility serving the nation’s capital. During that time, he became an expert in water quality and treatment issues, and was a frequent speaker at conferences on the subject.

Vince also worked in Congress for 10 years, serving in top leadership positions in both the House and Senate. He became the first person in history to ever serve as communications director for 5 Congressional committees.

Earlier in his career, Vince was deputy bureau chief of the New York Post and covered the White House and national political campaigns. He also was deployed to Iraq to cover the war there in 2003. He worked in newspapers for more than a decade and won multiple awards for his writing in North Carolina, Maryland, New York and the District of Columbia.

Currently, Vince writes a column on media for the Washington City Paper, and writes about urban planning issues for Greater Greater Washington. He is a member of the National Press Club and is also a frequent writer for the NPC newsletter.

Originally from Amherst, Massachusetts, Vince attended Boston University where he majored in journalism and played varsity football for four years on a full scholarship. He raised three daughters and was very active in public education in the city, serving as both PTA and LSAT President. He’s also served as a mayoral appointee for the city’s Library Board of Trustees and for Events DC, where he was part of the team that oversaw construction of a new baseball stadium in Navy Yard as part of a swap with Major League Baseball to bring the former Montreal Expos to the nation’s capital. In his free time, Vince enjoys hiking, kayaking, bike riding, books, movies and racing to finish each week’s New Yorker.
